Color Code

Everyone has a distinct personality pattern. Your personality includes
specific ways of thinking, reasoning, feeling, and acting. Each person
is born with a single Core Motive (or Core Color) that remains stable
throughout life. While your Core Motive never changes, you can develop
strengths and/or limitations from the different personalities over time
and in different situations.

The Color Code personality workshop will help you understand your Core
Motive and provide insights to working more effectively with others. The
profile will help you understand your innate strengths and limitations,
and help you relate more effectively with others, both at work and at home.
--Available as a half-day or full-day seminar.

Managing the One-Person Library
How can you "do it all" and "get it all done" when you are "it?" Participants in this workshop will learn techniques to maximize time and effectiveness, resources to make day-to-day management easier, and how to anticipate and plan for the future.
-- Available as a full-day seminar.

Hiring, Motivating, and Evaluating Library Staff
How do you make certain your library has the positions it needs and that you hire and retain the qualified staff to fill those positions? This seminar includes an overview of the laws affecting employment, developing job descriptions, interviewing candidates, performance appraisals, and motivating, guiding, and disciplining staff.
-- Available as a full-day seminar.

Management Skills for Librarians
Described as a "2-day MBA" by one participant, this seminar focuses on understanding the role of the library in the larger environment, provides an overview of the management function, identifies and explores the skills necessary to be a successful manger, and provides insight in the area of group dynamics and successful team work.
-- Available as a 2-day seminar; shorter sessions available on specific management aspects.

Organizational Culture

Understanding the cultural and political climate of an organization is a key element in working effectively with, or within, the structure. Participants in this workshop will learn the types of organizational culture, how to read a culture, the value of creating a strong culture organization, the importance of "culture fit," and how to manage culture successfully.
-- Available as a half-day or full-day seminar.

Fundraising and Development for Libraries
